The UMH celebrates the graduation of the fourth class of students from the bachellor program in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences.


The graduation ceremony of the  fourth group of students from the bachellor program in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences has been held in the Miguel Hernández University’s Great Hall, where 121 students have been graduated.

The UMH Vicerector of International Relations, Manuel Jordán Vidal, the President of the Social Council, Francisco Borja Miralles, the Dean of the Faculty of Social & Health Sciences, Eduardo Manuel Cervelló Gimeno, and the Director of the  Department of Health Psychology, Juan Carlos Marzo Campos have attended the ceremony.

Professor David González-Cutre Coll has given a master class and two students, Sofía López García and Patricia Lora Espinosa, have taken part in the event on behalf of the fourth class of the Physical Activity and Sport Sciences degree.

The UMH and the UA held the closing ceremony of the Family Business Chair courses.


20130613_F (234)20130613_F (240)The Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche and the University of Alicante (UA) held the closing ceremony of the Family Business Chair courses of both universities, in a joint event who took place in the Rectorate and Social Council Building Function Hall in the Campus of Elche. The event was presided by the Rector of the UMH, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, and the Rector of the UA, Manuel Palomar Sanz.

Among the people who attended the ceremony were the Directors of the Family Business Chairs in Elche and Alicante, Marcos Requena Penat and Fernando Olivares, respectively. There were also present at the ceremony, the president of the Social Council of the UMH, Francisco Borja Miralles, the president of the Family Business Association, Francisco Gómez Andreu, the Director-General of Universities, Higher Education and Science, José Miguel Saval Pérez, and the Director-General of Industry of Joaquín Ríos Casanova.

During the ceremony, diplomas were awarded to the students who have finished Family Business Chair courses in Elche and Alicante. Manuel Paredes Algarra and Asunción Ester Esclapez Boig, both students of the Family Business Chair in Elche, took part in the ceremony on behalf of  all the students of these courses.

The Family Business Chairs  in the UMH and the UA are sponsored by institutions and companies such as  Grupo Antón Comunicación, Grupo Pikolinos, Gupo ASV, Mercadona, Grupo Soledad, Mustang, J’Hayber, GET, Grupo Marjal and Laboratorios Quinton Internacional. Representing them, the president of the Fundación Pascual Ros Aguilar, Sergio Ros, took part in the ceremony.

As part of the inauguration of El Clot Sports Complex the UMH organises many activities and workshops.


 

The Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche has inaugurated El Clot Sports Complex in the campus of Elche at 11:00 a.m. For this reason, a Sports Party has been organised, a charity event for the sake of Fundación Salud Infantil, in which many activities, workshops and tournaments have been celebrated.  The inscription has been free and limited to places on offer for each category. 

The activities schedule includes a race in the athletics track, padel, tennis and soccer tournaments, F1 simulations, scalextric and speed tracks competitions. The activities has been developed in El Clot Sports Complex, in the Sports Stadiom, the BMX track and the UMH skating ring. 

 

The Sports Party is the first sports day event organised by “Schools, Sports Services and Sustainability” of the UMH. The objective of this activity is to promote health through sports practice in all its forms, as well as to enhance sustainable mobility and to help sportsmen and women to build upon their knowledge of other areas. 

This is an opportunity for  professionals of Physical Education to value the integration of fitness and sustainable mobility activities in school syllabuses,  both inside and outside school hours.

The UMH introduces the ERASMUS Experience Club card.


The Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche has introduced the ERASMUS Experience Club card this morning. This card offers advantages to Erasmus students, both the UMH students who have done a  study abroad program and students from other European universities who are enrolled on official studies in the UMH.

The Rector of the UMH, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, the Vice-rector of Students, Francisco Moreno,  the Vice-rector of International Relations, Manuel Jordán and the General Students’ Representative, Ángeles Mas, were in charge of the presentation.

Among the advantages offered by the card,  sports activities discounts, welcoming events and foreign language promotion activities  must be pointed out.

This Club emerges as an in-person and virtual international meeting forum, whose aim is to promote international relations and activities throughout the University Community, as well as the dissemination of experiences and organization of activities.

Noelia Belando and Raquel Pérez, students of the UMH, winners of National Awards for Excellence in Academic Performance


The students of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Noelia Belando Pedreño and Raquel Pérez Sarmiento have received  in Madrid one of the National Awards for Excellence in Academic Performance for the 2009-2010 year.

The Ministry of Education acknowledges with this award the excellence in Academic Performance of the students who have just accomplished their undergraduate degree with  the highest average score in their  degrees.

The vice-rector of the UMH students, Francisco Javier Moreno Hernández, has attended the ceremony in which  runner-up prizes have been given to Noelia Belando Pedreño,  graduate in Physical Activities and Sports, and  Raquel Pérez Sarmiento,  diploma in Labour Relations.
