The UMH celebrates Saint Thomas Aquinas with the investiture of Ramón Lobo as Doctor Honoris Causa.

The Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche will celebrate the feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas tomorrow, Tuesday, January 28th. During the ceremony, the Gold Medal will be awarded to Professor Jesús Pastor Ciurana, 53 new PhDs will be conferred, and six Extraordinary Doctorate Awards will be presented. Also during the ceremony, journalist Ramón Lobo will be conferred an Honorary Doctorate, with José Luis González, Professor of Journalism at the UMH, as sponsor. The ceremony will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Rectorate and Social Council building, located on the Elche campus.
Journalist and writer Ramón Lobo has contributed to various media outlets such as El País, Expansión, Cinco días, and La Gaceta de los Negocios. He also currently contributes to InfoLibre and El Periódico. He also participates in the program “A vivir que son dos días” (A live that’s two days) on the SER network and, since October 2014, has published interviews in El Diario.es, specifically in the Tipos Inquietantes section.
The event will be chaired by the rector of the UMH, Juan José Ruiz Martínez, and he will be joined at the panel by the rector of the University of Alicante, Manuel Palomar; the president of the UMH Social Council, Joaquín Pérez Vázquez; the vice-rector for Research at the UMH, Domingo Orozco Beltrán; the vice-rector for International Relations at the University, Vicente Micol Molina; and the Secretary General of the UMH, Mercedes Sánchez Castillo.
