Presentation of Five Lustrous Distinction plaques

The UMH celebrates its 25th anniversary with recognition of the oldest university community

The tribute to those members of the university community who have worked at Miguel Hernández University (UMH) during its first twenty-five years of existence was the central activity of the event held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, in front of the UMH Rector’s Office and Social Council building.

In total, the UMH has awarded more than 200 Cinco Lustros distinctions.

During the ceremony, UMH Manager Emma Benlloch Marco, Honorary Rector Jesús Rodríguez Marín, and Rector Juan José Ruiz Martínez spoke.

Those responsible for presenting the awards to the teaching and research staff, as well as the administrative and service staff, were the three rectors of the UMH (Juan José Ruiz Martínez, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, and Jesús Rodríguez Marín), as well as the four presidents of the Board of Trustees (Joaquín Pérez Vázquez, Francisco Soler Obrero, Francisco Borja Miralles, and Emilio Cano). A total of 206 people received this distinction.

Attendees enjoyed live music from the UMH School of Music Industry. This was the first ceremony held in the gardens of the Rectorate and Board of Trustees building on the Elche campus and one of the main events on the agenda for the institution’s 25th anniversary.
