Inauguration on the Elche campus of a monolith in homage to the victims of COVID-19

The Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche inaugurated a monument this Tuesday morning at 11:15 a.m. in homage to the victims of COVID-19. The monument is located next to the Arenals building on the Elche campus. During the ceremony, the Rector of the UMH, Juan José Ruiz, and representatives from the UMH and the city councils of the university’s four campuses laid a floral tribute at the monument.
Specifically, in addition to the Rector, those attending the tribute included the President of the UMH Social Council, Joaquín Pérez; the Mayor of Elche, Carlos González; the Mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana; the Mayor of Sant Joan d’Alacant, Jaime Albero; and the Councilor for Culture of the Altea City Council, Aurora Serrat; as well as members of the UMH Governing Council.
