The Miguel Hernández University of Elche celebrated the feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas 2019 on January 28th. During the ceremony, pharmacological neuroprotection researcher Mr. Antonio García García was invested as the new Doctor Honoris Causa. The sponsor of the new Honoris was Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Madrid (UMH), Francisco Sala Merchán. In addition, 58 Extraordinary Doctorate Awards were presented, and 24 new Doctors from the University will be invested.
The ceremony was presided over by the Rector of the University of Madrid (UMH), Mr. Jesús Pastor Ciurana; the President of the University’s Board of Trustees, Mr. Francisco J. Soler Obrero; the Vice-Rector for Teaching Staff, Ms. Eva Aliaga Agulló; the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Mr. Manuel Jordán Vidal; and the Secretary General, Ms. Mercedes Sánchez Castillo.
