CHARACTERISTICS:
- Deciduous tree with dark gray, longitudinally fissured bark.
INTERESTING FACTS:
- Its ability to germinate and resprout from the stump makes it invasive, as it can appear growing almost anywhere.
USES:
- ORNAMENTAL: Used in street plantings and, due to its hardiness, has also been used to create shelterbelts and shade trees in harsh environments.
