The UMH hosts the 13th International Congress of the Spanish Association of Sports Sciences

The Spanish Association of Sports Sciences (AECD) and the Sports Research Center (CID) of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) have organized the XIII International Congress of the Spanish Association of Sports Sciences, which will be held from 4:00 p.m. this afternoon until October 3, in the Rectorate and Social Council buildings and La Valona, ​​both located on the Elche campus of the UMH. The Congress will start in the Assembly Hall of the Rectorate and Social Council building with the Plenary Conference Exercise against cancer mechanisms involved, by Alejandro Lucía Mulas.

The opening of this meeting will be presided over by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the UMH, Vicente Micol; the President of the Higher Council of Sports, José Manuel Rodríguez; the President of the Spanish Association of Sports Sciences, Tomás García; the President of the Conference of Deans of Sports Sciences, Fernando del Villar Álvarez; the Councilor for Sports of the Elche City Council, José Antonio Román; and the Vice-President of the General Council of Physical Education and Sports (COLEF), Vicente Morales.

This is a biennial event, consolidated as the leading scientific and professional meeting in the sector in Spain, bringing together experts, researchers, professionals, and students to discuss the latest innovations and challenges in physical activity and sport. Its fundamental mission is to promote the advancement of research, the transfer of knowledge, and the establishment of collaborative networks. Over three days, a wide range of topics will be addressed, ranging from improving athletic performance and physical activity for health to sports management, sports psychology, and the application of new technologies.
