21st Congress of Pharmacy Students of Alicante

Fifth-year Pharmacy students from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) have organized the 21st Pharmacy Congress (CEFA), the 15th national and 11th international edition, which will be held from October 14th to 16th at the Sant Joan d’Alacant Municipal Auditorium. The event is aimed at Pharmacy students and graduates, as well as any student or professional in the healthcare field. This edition will be a fully sustainable event, committed to the 2030 Agenda and aligned with the Paris Agreement’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

The Congress will open tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. Speakers will include, among others, the Vice-Rector for Students and Coordination at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), José Juan López Espín; the Councilor for Urban Planning, Culture, and Youth of the Sant Joan d’Alacant City Council, David Aracil Aracil; the Dean of the UMH Faculty of Pharmacy, Jorge Manzanares Robles; the Secretary of the Official College of Pharmacists of Alicante (COFA), Ana María Bartolomé Gisbert; the Academic President, Enrique Barrajón; and the President of the Congress, Carolina Ramos.

During the three days of the Congress, the organizers have scheduled presentations on Dermopharmacy with Blanca Llacer and David Garduño; career paths such as the Pharmacy Residency Exam (FIR), military pharmacy, and doctoral studies; and scientific outreach on social media with personalities such as @diariodeunacientifica, @medicadoo, @remenavarro, and @boticonsejo. In addition, roundtables have been organized on master’s degrees related to the profession; the pharmaceutical industry; addictions and entrepreneurship; as well as talks on solid cosmetics; AI applied to health and the pharmacy; and common myths in cosmetics and dermopharmacy, among others. Various workshops will also be held on topics such as parasitology, immunology, and pharmaceutical care, along with several guided tours.
