“Third Day Science has a woman’s name” on the occasion of March 8

The rector of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, and the director of the University’s Equality Unit, María José Alarcón, inaugurated this morning the “III Conference on Science Has a Woman’s Name” with the reading of the 8M Manifesto. The academic from the Royal Academy of Engineering and Honorary Doctor from the UMH Nuria Oliver and the researcher from the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Mónica Lira Cantu participated in this event.

Also speaking during this day were the vice-rector for Research and Innovation of the UMH, Manuel Jordán Vidal; the director of the UMH Bioengineering Institute, Ángela Sastre; the director of the UMH Gender Studies Research Center, Juana Aznar Márquez, and the director of the Higher Polytechnic School of Elche (EPSE), Miguel Ángel de la Casa Lillo. The vice-rector for Culture and University Extension, Tatiana Sentamans, also attended the event.

Likewise, during this activity, the Algo Contigo Theater Company has performed the play “A Fearful Girl. Fragments.”
