Awards ceremony for Innovation in Management, Academic Excellence and Teaching Talent 2018
The Rector of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, presented the awards this morning for the 5th edition of the “UMH University Management Innovation Week,” the UMH Teaching Talent Awards, and the Academic Excellence Grants. The ceremony took place in the Auditorium of the Severo Ochoa building on the Sant Joan d’Alacant campus.
The event was presided over by the Rector of the UMH, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, the Vice-Rector for Faculty, Eva Aliaga Agulló, the Vice-Rector for Students and Sports, Francisco Javier Moreno Hernández, the Vice-Rector for Planning, Fernando Borrás Rocher, and the University Manager, Emma Benlloch Marco.
In the fifth edition of the “UMH University Management Innovation Week” awards, each worth €2,000, the winning projects were: “Marketing Placement at UMH,” led by Raúl Cárceles Chazarra of the Communications Department; “Dona+,” presented by Mª Ángeles Fuentes Bonmatí and Yolanda de Tomás Berenguer-Marco of the Budget and Asset Management Department; and “Info Parking UMH” and “Campus Check,” a shared prize awarded to Víctor Menéndez Ruiz and Natacha Vigil Juárez of the Infrastructure Department. The event also recognized the initiators of ideas implemented during the 3rd and 4th editions of Innovation Week, which are now a reality at UMH, such as “Visual Impairment,” “Parkingtable,” and “UMH Signature App.”
In addition, the 25 students with the best academic records from the 2017-2018 academic year received Academic Excellence Grants of €1,000 each. This award is part of the UMH Scholarship and Grant Program of the Vice-Rectorate for Students and Sports, which recognizes UMH students pursuing undergraduate or official first- and/or second-cycle degree programs.
For its part, the UMH Vice-Rectorate for Faculty presented 90 UMH Teaching Talent Awards, each worth €1,500. These awards are distributed among professors from the academic branches of “Health Sciences”, “Experimental Sciences and Technical Teachings” and “Social Sciences, Law and Humanities”.
