Nearly 80% of first-year students at the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche show low adherence to the Mediterranean diet. This is one of the main conclusions of the first nutrition and health report on UMH students, prepared by the UMH Healthy program of the Vice-Rectorate for Institutional Relations and the Nutrition Epidemiology Unit of the Department of Public Health, with the collaboration of the Valencian Regional Government’s Ministry of Transparency and Participation.

The rector of the UMH, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, the vice-rector of Institutional Relations, María Teresa Pérez Vázquez, and the deputy vice-rector of Institutional Relations for Social Responsibility, Sergio Hernández, presented the main results of the report this morning.
