The rector of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Jesús T. Pastor Ciurana, read a manifesto yesterday in the lobby of the Rectorate and Social Council building on the Elche campus to mark International Women’s Day. Additionally, the UMH Equality Unit presented the awards for the 2nd “Equality in 1 Minute” Short Film Competition.

The first prize in the Short Film Competition, worth 500 euros, was awarded to Salvador Feltrer Albert, an Audiovisual Communication student at UMH, for his short film “Humanos” (Humans). UMH also awarded two runner-up prizes of 250 euros each to Joan Cuadra Martínez and José María Casanueva Victoria, both Audiovisual Communication students, for their works “Cómete la desigualdad” (Eat Inequality) and “Bailamos. Somos iguales” (We Dance. We Are Equal), respectively.
