The UMH and the Vectalia group present the Casa Cesilia Chair of Wine Tourism

The Rector of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Jesús T. Pastor Ciurana, presided today, June 1st, at Casa Cesilia over the activities organized by the Casa Cesilia Chair of Wine Tourism in 2016, along with the Regional Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Climate Change, Elena Cebrián, the Mayor of Novelda, Francisco Martínez, and the Director General of Tourism of the Valencian Government, Raquel Huete. The Chair’s Director, David López Lluch, presented the activities organized for 2016.

The presentation activities included a short story contest about wine-growing landscapes, a video contest on wine tourism topics, sponsorship of the 1st Agri-food and Agro-environmental Olympiad of the province of Alicante, and awards for the best Master’s Thesis on Wine Tourism and another for research on oenological topics.

The Casa Cesilia Chair of Wine Tourism is the result of an agreement between the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) and the Vectalia Group. Its objectives are training, research, development, and knowledge transfer in the field of wine tourism.
