Also present at the event were the Vice-Rector for Students and Sports at UMH, Francisco Javier Moreno Hernández; the Director of the UMH Sports Research Center, Eduardo Cervelló; and the program coordinator, Rafael Sabido Solana.

The UMH Sports Promises Program integrates athletes into a technical and scientific monitoring program, which will help them improve their physical and technical performance, depending on the sport they practice. Other benefits include free tuition for their first year at UMH, priority access to collaboration grants at the Sports Office, and UMH sports apparel.

The 13 selected athletes stand out for their academic record and athletic achievements, and were chosen by their own schools to participate in the UMH Promises Program. The qualifiers are students from the following schools in Elche: Laude Newton College, Salesianos San José Artesano, IES Carrús, IES Cayetano Sempere, and Colegio Santa María; as well as from the Alicante schools Colegio CEU-Jesús María and IES Francisco Figueras Pacheco. Students from IES Número 1-Libertas in Torrevieja, IES San Pascual in Dolores, IES Enric Valor in El Campello, and IES Lloixa in Sant Joan d’Alacant also qualified.
