On January 26, the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche celebrated the feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas 2018. During the ceremony, Granada-born singer and composer Miguel R\u00edos was invested as the new Doctor Honoris Causa. The sponsor of the new honorary doctorate was Tatiana Sentamans, Vice-Rector for Culture and University Outreach at the UMH. New doctors were also invested, and 36 Extraordinary Doctorate Awards were presented.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was presided over by Jes\u00fas Pastor Ciurana, Rector of the UMH; Francisco Borja Miralles, President of the University’s Board of Trustees; Mercedes S\u00e1nchez Castillo, Secretary General; Manuel Jord\u00e1n Vidal, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the UMH; and Eva Aliaga Agull\u00f3, Vice-Rector for Teaching Staff at the University.<\/p>\n
