The Rector of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University (UMH) of Elche, Juan Jos\u00e9 Ruiz Mart\u00ednez, presented the awards this morning for the 12th edition of the \u2018UMH University Management Innovation Week,\u2019 the \u2018UMH Teaching Talent Awards,\u2019 and the \u2018Academic Excellence Grants.\u2019 The ceremony was held in the Auditorium of the Severo Ochoa building on the Sant Joan d\u2019Alacant campus.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>In addition to the Rector, those attending the awards ceremony included the President of the Social Council, Joaqu\u00edn P\u00e9rez V\u00e1zquez; the Vice-Rector for Faculty, Jos\u00e9 Carlos Espigares Huete; the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Susana Fern\u00e1ndez de \u00c1vila L\u00f3pez; and the University Manager, Emma Benlloch Marco.<\/p>\n

The winning ideas of the 12th UMH University Management Innovation Week were recognized at the event. This initiative, promoted by the Vice-Rectorate for Knowledge Transfer and Exchange and the UMH Management, and managed by the Quality Service, seeks to foster an innovative spirit among the University’s Technical, Management, and Administrative and Service Staff (PTGAS). The awards, worth \u20ac1,500 each, recognize ideas that improve services, management processes, or the functioning of teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.<\/p>\n

Following an evaluation process of the finalist proposals submitted by 15 teams, the Final Jury selected the four winning ideas: The Research Hive, proposed by Jos\u00e9 Alberto Palma Garc\u00eda, consists of creating a platform that allows researchers to easily find volunteers for their studies, enabling them to streamline projects and optimize their research time. Meanwhile, the Classroom Reservation initiative, presented by a multidisciplinary team comprised of Mar Rold\u00e1n Romero, Jos\u00e9 Monge Soto, Laura Fern\u00e1ndez Asensio, Abel Torrecillas Moreno, and Julio Alberto Ramos Mart\u00ednez, aims to modernize the classroom reservation application. The project includes the incorporation of images (photographs or 360\u00ba videos), detailed information on technical equipment and accessibility, and more efficient search filters. Also receiving an award was the UMH DIGITAL initiative by Ra\u00fal C\u00e1rceles Chazarra, which proposes the installation of digital panels (MUPIs) in strategic, high-traffic locations on campus to more effectively communicate news, activities, and events for UMH students. Finally, UMH Access Keys, conceived by Sergio Briongos Caballero, proposes generating and storing secure access codes so users can bypass two-step verification and access UMH services when they do not have their mobile phones.<\/p>\n

With these awards, UMH not only recognizes the effort and talent of its community but also actively promotes continuous improvement in all its areas of operation.<\/p>\n

In addition, the 30 students with the best academic records for the 2024-2025 academic year received Academic Excellence Grants of \u20ac1,000 each. This award falls under the UMH Scholarship and Grant Program of the Vice-Rectorate for Students and Coordination, which recognizes UMH students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in official first and\/or second cycle programs.<\/p>\n

The UMH has also awarded 90 UMH Teaching Talent prizes, each worth \u20ac1,100. These awards are distributed among professors in the academic fields of Health Sciences, Experimental Sciences and Engineering, and Social Sciences, Law, and Humanities. The prizes are part of the Docentia-UMH Program, which has received a positive evaluation from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
