The Rector of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University (UMH) of Elche, Jes\u00fas Tadeo Pastor Ciurana, will present the journal UMH Sapiens tomorrow, Tuesday, December 4th. This digital publication focuses on the research conducted at the academic institution. The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Training Room of the Rectorate and Social Council building on the Elche campus. Also in attendance will be the Vice-Rector for Institutional Relations, Mar\u00eda Teresa P\u00e9rez V\u00e1zquez, and the Director of Communications, Jos\u00e9 Juan L\u00f3pez Esp\u00edn.<\/p>\n
The Communications Office, under the Vice-Rectorate for Institutional Relations, has launched UMH Sapiens to communicate the achievements of the research groups and experts working on research projects. The first issue is now available at http:\/\/www.umhsapiens.com\/.<\/p>\n
The official launch of the journal has been conceived as a prelude to the 2012 Nobel Prizes in Economics and Medicine. To this end, the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University (UMH) has organized two lectures. The first will be given by Professor Joaqu\u00edn S\u00e1nchez Soriano, Chair of Statistics and Operations Research and an expert in Game Theory. The second lecture will be delivered by researcher Salvador Mart\u00ednez P\u00e9rez, a specialist in stem cell treatments. These are two lines of research for which mathematicians Lloyd Shapley and Alvin E. Roth, and doctors John B. Gurdon and Shinya Yamanaka were awarded the Nobel Prize this year.<\/p>\n
