These awards, granted by the Social Council of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University (UMH), recognize the achievements of individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves within the ten institutional chairs currently held by the University.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_148363\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/comunicacion.umh.es\/files\/2021\/11\/IMG_4455-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-148363\" src=\"https:\/\/comunicacion.umh.es\/files\/2021\/11\/IMG_4455-300x184.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-148363\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-148363\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Fuente: UMH.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The event was attended by the president of the UMH Social Council, Joaqu\u00edn P\u00e9rez V\u00e1zquez; the university rector, Juan Jos\u00e9 Ruiz Mart\u00ednez; the regional secretary for Universities and Research, Carmen Bevi\u00e1 Baeza; and the mayors of Elche, Orihuela, Aspe, Novelda, and Monforte.<\/p>\n<p>The Dama d\u2019Elx Chair&#8217;s award was given to the \u2018PastWomen\u2019 Project for its work in raising the profile of research in archaeology and history related to the study of women&#8217;s material culture. It was also highlighted that this project provides updated resources from feminist perspectives to all sectors involved in the dissemination of historical knowledge related to Archaeology, Prehistory, and Protohistory within the Mediterranean region.<\/p>\n<p>The Palmeral d\u2019Elx Chair, in keeping with its policy of including the various palm groves of the Alicante province, has awarded the Orihuela City Council for its work on behalf of the Orihuela Palm Grove and for its ongoing efforts to improve and conserve the historic San Ant\u00f3n Palm Grove. This is especially significant given the severe damage caused by the 2019 DANA storm.<\/p>\n<p>The Pedro Ibarra Chair has recognized Jos\u00e9 Guill\u00f3 Pelegr\u00edn for providing the Chair with his collection of theatrical works performed in Elche from the 1930s to the present day. Hundreds of programs of immense documentary value have been collected.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez Chair award has been presented to Paco Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez, a Spanish singer-songwriter whose full name is Francisco Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez Gorostidi. He is the son of a Valencian cabinetmaker and a Basque mother who were forced into exile in France at the end of the Spanish Civil War. In 1952, he began studying guitar. In Paris, he attended courses at the Scola Cantorum, studies which he continued with the classical guitarist Andr\u00e9s Segovia.<\/p>\n<p>The Misteri d\u2019Elx Chair has posthumously awarded a prize to Joaqu\u00edn Serrano Vera, former executive president of the Misteri d\u2019Elx Board of Trustees, who passed away on September 14, 2020, and who remained a trustee until his death. The award recognizes his work as President of the Board for eight years, from 1998 to 2006. This period includes the declaration of the Misteri d\u2019Elx as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a recognition granted by UNESCO in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>The San Crisp\u00edn Chair of the Elche Footwear Industry has awarded a prize to Inescop, representing all the footwear companies and workers in the province. The award recognizes their work during the most difficult period of the pandemic, when footwear companies and workers dedicated themselves to producing medical supplies to address the existing shortages.<\/p>\n<p>The UMH Chair in Rwanda has recognized the Valencian Community Volunteer Platform (PVCV), a network of non-profit organizations united by their shared commitment to volunteering, with the aim of promoting and disseminating volunteer work in society. The PVCV brings together more than 100 organizations in the Valencian Community and carries out various activities to promote volunteering.<\/p>\n<p>The Annetta Nicoli Chair award has been given to Isabel Tejeda Mart\u00edn, curator, critic, and cultural manager who has collaborated with the Annetta Nicoli Chair on various activities and projects since 2019. Specifically, her participation as a specialist in history, art, women, and feminisms in the conference &#8220;Juana Franc\u00e9s, an artist among men&#8221; at the Faculty of Fine Arts on the Altea campus stands out.<\/p>\n<p>The Legal Clinic Chair has recognized the Avalcae Association (Valencian Association against school bullying). This independent, non-profit private association aims to help and advise students and families involved in conflicts related to school coexistence, bullying, and cyberbullying within the school environment.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the Gudie Lawaetz Chair of Cinematography and Documentary Filmmaking has awarded its prize to the Luis Bu\u00f1uel Film Club of Elche.
