<\/a><\/p>\nWinners of the 9th Social Council Awards<\/p>\n
In this edition, the UMH Social Council awarded an Honorary Prize to Elche C.F. for its close collaboration with the UMH Faculty of Social and Health Sciences, which this year also coincides with the year of their promotion to the first division. The Council also awarded the Spanish Red Cross Provincial Branch of Alicante the Non-Profit Organization prize; Rafael Bernab\u00e9u Moya, Honorary President of the J\u2019hayber Group, the Social Relevance prize; and the Huerto del Cura Group the Business and Institutions prize.<\/p>\n
Within the Research Groups category, the Research prize went to the Bioactive Molecules Group, directed by Gregorio Joaqu\u00edn Fern\u00e1ndez Ballester. In the Young Researchers category, the award was given to Professor Jos\u00e9 Luis Carballo Crespo, from the Department of Health Psychology.<\/p>\n
The Teaching Excellence Award was given to Professors Jos\u00e9 Antonio P\u00e9rez Juan, from the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences in Elche, and Esther Caparr\u00f3s Cayuela, from the Faculty of Medicine. In the Student category, the award went to students Mar\u00eda Cristina Pastor Valc\u00e1rcel, Cristina Santamar\u00eda Meli\u00e1, and Javier Ferrer Aracil.<\/p>\n
This year, the Innovation in Management Award was given to two UMH departments: the Innovation and Technical Support for Teaching and Research Service, for its \u201cInnovation and Improvement in Teaching through ICTs,\u201d directed by Tom\u00e1s Sempere Gallar; and the Communication, Marketing, and Press Office, for its \u201cScience Outreach\u201d initiatives, directed by Jos\u00e9 Juan L\u00f3pez Esp\u00edn.<\/p>\n
The Best University Athlete award has been given to the UMH Badminton team, university champions in all categories, including singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.<\/p>\n
Regarding the UMH Chairs, in the Corporate and Patronage Chairs category, the award has gone to the “Professor Remedios Caro Almela” Chair of Developmental Neurobiology, directed by Juan Lerma G\u00f3mez and funded by the Mart\u00ednez Caro family. Also, in the UMH Institutional Chairs category, the winners were the Hernandian researcher Juan Cano Ballesta for the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez Chair, the Elche collector Jos\u00e9 Antonio Carrasco Pacheco for the Pedro Ibarra Chair, the historian Joan Casta\u00f1o Garc\u00eda for the Misteri d\u2019Elx Chair and the commercial director of the company Provefe, Alfredo Ahumada P\u00e9rez, for the El Palmeral d\u2019Elx Chair.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
